Ecosystem provision

The map shows the mean value of ecosystem services currently provided by the territory of the Czech Republic. Ecosystem services of the highest value are provided by forest ecosystems, particularly in the mountainous areas along the national border. A moderate level of ecosystem services is provided by agricultural ecosystems, meadows and pastures. The lowest level of ecosystem services is provided by exploited natural areas, natural rocks, etc. The areas characterized by low provision of ecosystem services, substantially transformed by human activity,  are rendered in grey, since their provision of ecosystem services is negligible at the scale of the analysis.
